Celebrity moms embrace post-baby stretch marks and bodies

Women have often been made to feel insecure about their weight gain and changing bodies after welcoming a human into the world

Women are now embracing their post-baby bodies more than ever and encouraging other moms to do the same.

The first few days, weeks, and months after giving birth are tough on new moms for various reasons, but one thing they should not stress about is how they look.

Women have often been made to feel insecure about their weight gain and changing bodies after welcoming a human into the world.

Those days are changing!

Women are now embracing their post-baby bodies more than ever and encouraging other moms to do the same.

One of those women is Ashley Graham. The model has been applauded for choosing not to Photoshop her stretch marks for a swimsuit photo shoot.

The 32-year-old, who gave birth to her son Isaac six months ago, shared pictures from her backyard shoot on her Instagram page.

She told People magazine that she felt empowered.

“I’ve got more weight on me. I’ve stretch marks, and in the beginning, I really had to have a lot of conversations with myself and tell myself, ‘Okay, new body, new mindset.’ But after this photo shoot, I felt so empowered because I was like, ‘Yes. I look good. I feel good. This is my new mom bod.”

Ashely is not the only famous mom embracing her post-baby body. Local dancer, Nkateko ‘Takkies’ Dinwiddy, gave birth to her second daughter in June.

She shared a picture of her post-baby body on Instagram, with a special message for moms.

“For most people having a baby brings on many feelings, some positive some not so easy to deal with. But ladies don’t forget to STAND TALL. What you are doing in birthing and raising a child takes great strength and courage, and you are already a goddess through these acts. Give yourself permission to project that power,” she wrote.

‘The Bachelor’ star Bekah Martinez welcomed her son into the world in June.

Bekah, who is also mom to one-year-old Ruth, says she survives the postpartum period by avoiding mom bloggers “who look ready for the Oscars like 3 hours after giving birth” and remembering that the dirty dishes and visitors can wait.

Journalist and influencer, Danae Mercer, is also inspiring moms and women, in general, to feel comfortable in their skin by sharing pictures of her body – cellulite and all!

“You’re allowed to be a MASTERPIECE and a WORK IN PROGRESS at the same time. Especially when it come to SELF LOVE and CONFIDENCE,” she wrote in a recent post.
